The entire GTbank Group was thrown into mourning with the sad news of the death of  Managing Director of GTbank Liberia, Mr. Dan Orogun.
Orogun, an indigene of Delta State, Nigeria was involved in an unfortunate
boat accident over the weekend and immediately a search and rescue operation was put in motion but all attempts to locate him proved abortive until Wednesday when his lifeless body was recovered from a river.
According to a statement released by GTBank Liberia, Orogunn went missing after an unfortunate boating mishap that took place on Sunday, January 24, at the Barracuda Resort off the Robertsfied Highway in Monrovia.

Mr Orogun, a banker with more than 20 years experience was at the resort with friends when he reportedly fell into the water and several attempts made to rescue him failed. What makes his death so devastating was the fact that the boat ride was part of his 17th Wedding Anniversary celebrations. He had planned the ride for weeks, and had with him his wife and three children when the incident occurred.
He is credited with setting up GT Bank in Sierra Leone before moving to Liberia to set up another branch.
