HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PETER AND PAUL OKOYE (PSquare).

PSquare.

P-square is a musical group made up of two handsome and energetic twins from Eastern Nigeria named Peter and Paul. Peter is a graduate of University of jos while Paul graduated from University of Abuja. When they started off their musical career a lot of criticisms were thrown their way. Some accused them of copying, others said they were only good in dance choreography, some even went as far as predicting they won't last in the industry. But like a Trojan on an adventurous and record breaking mission, these two Igbo boys of Anambra extraction ignored all their criticisms and kept on trudging.

By dint of hardwork, this young and talented musical duo has managed to stay focused on their music career churning out award winning tracks and best selling albums since 2003 when they burst into national limelight. P-square's first album "last nite" sold quite a number of copies and even earned them a Kora award in South Africa. Their second album "Get squared" with hit tracks likes "bizzy body" earned them a pride of place in the continental scene.

Their third album titled "Game over" was phenomenal, it sold over a million copies in just one week of its release thereby establishing them as a well known music brand in Africa and beyond. Having conquered the African scene, they announced themselves to the world with several wave making collabos with international acts like Akon, Rick Ross, Dave Scott et al. They have six albums to their credit and are currently the highest selling Nigerian musical artiste (single or group). Their awards are too numerous to mention.

The Okoye twins also rake in millions from endorsement deals and they are also ambassadors to many companies and corporate brands. In spite of their successes they have managed to stay together despite many stories of their imminent break-up. They are both married and live in their multi million naira posh mansion located in Omole estate, Lagos state. Their story is a perfect illustration of reslilence, tenacity and perseverance.

As they celebrate their birthday today , I wish them good health, more success and more accomplishments.
