Different ways to use vinegar in household chores.

Vinegar is as old as humanity, well almost. This is the only kitchen substance that has no expiry date. Aside from being a staple in most salads and other recipes, vinegar is that wonder liquid no one told you about. It works hard without all the unnecessary toxins left behind by other cleaning detergents.
Unclog a drain
If you think your sink or drain is clogged, get some vinegar and baking powder. Pour hot water down the drain, next pour in the baking powder, add a cup or two of vinegar. Watch the frothy reaction when the two mix up. Let it sit for up to one hour. Pour hot boiling water down the drain, remove any residue that comes up, finally pour cold water.

In your laundry
Add a cup of vinegar to your wash basin or fill the laundry cap of your washing machine with vinegar and run your wash cycle. Your whites will be whiter and your coloureds bolder.
To remove sweat stains: Mix two parts vinegar with three parts baking powder, apply on sweat stains. Let it sit for 30 minutes then wash.
Absorb odours
Are you cooking fish, let a bowl of vinegar sit out on the counter as you go about the cooking and after. The kitchen and house will smell less fishy.
Disinfect toilet bowls
Pour two cups vinegar in the toilet bowl and spread it around the bowl with a toilet brush. Let it sit overnight, scrub and flush in the morning.
Shine windows and shower cubicles
Mix ½ cup vinegar, 1 cup ammonia, ¼ cup baking powder and three litres of water. Use it to wipe down shower cubicles and doors.
Remove wrinkles
There is no need to stress yourself over ironing out wrinkles. Mix vinegar with water in a bottle. Spray on your wrinkled clothes, let them hang for 30 minutes, you will get back to wrinkle-free clothes that are easy to iron out.
Prolong plant life
Wondering how to keep your store-bought flowers fresh? Add two tablespoons vinegar and 1 tablespoon sugar into the water. Your flowers will hang onto their life longer and look more alive and less droopy for more days.
